How big? You (and I've received confirmation that you do, in fact, exist, which is very exciting to me. The leap from zero readers to one is, mathematically speaking, infinite, so that's big news right there.) are about to find out.
I won second place in the Battle of the Bay (BOTB), and it feels pretty good! That's right, I'm the Adam Lambert/Susan Doyle (or is it Boyle) of comedy, what do you think of that?
I became a member of the newly formed "The Stand-Up Project," which is awesome. I'm sure I'll be writing about that later, but basically it's a group of SFCC comedians who are all trying to move into becoming professionals (at comedy). I don't know what to expect, except (Anagrams!) that I'll be immersing myself more fully into comedy.
When I did the BOTB I did a twelve minute set, which was the longest set I've ever done, until three days later when I performed at the El Rio for over fifteen minutes! It wasn't my best set, because I kinda petered out at the end, and I didn't leave myself with a good closer; but it also wasn't my worst, and I got a chance to get a feel for how a longer set needs to have a different sort of structure.
Then last night at Asia one of our customers introduced herself to me as someone who seen me at the El Rio, and was inspired to go to there because I had mentioned it on stage. She didn't say she went to see me, but it was still pretty cool. And my announcing at Asia has gotten a lot looser and (I think) better, which is a direct reflection of doing Stand-up.

Well, I probably should have spent that time updating the "Upcoming Shows" thing to the left, or working on material for those shows, but I didn't because I wanted to share some excitement with you (who exists).

I'm creating a post filled entirely with words. Not too many words, probably, but that's okay. I just wanted to throw something up here so you can tell I'm literate. Although you (if you exist) wouldn't necessarily be convinced by a little bit of writing with my name attached. For all you know this is really Cynthia, my personal assistant, who is writing this.
What I really should be working on is getting my "Shows in which I'll be" updated. If you look to the left, and the latest show listed is 'A Funny Night for Comedy' then I really need to get on the ball. Or Cynthia does.
Speaking of my monthly show which is produced by me that I run, I have been getting a lot of requests to be in the show, both by strangers and friends. It's kinda cool, but also a little stressful, because I have more requests than spaces in the next three shows combined and I hate telling people things I think they don't wanna hear. I can fit more people if I give everyone less time, but I'd really rather have fewer people do longer sets.
I was also thinking of adding an open-mic to the show, but that would have to start at either 5:00, which feels too early, or 9:00, which is an okay time but would be anti-climactic and in direct competition with the Punchline.
What do you (if you exist) think? Maybe I should talk to Cynthia about this.

I know that posts concerning show dates aren't in chronological order by when they will happen, but when I happened to confirm the fact that they are happening, which I guess is kinda confusing.
But if you move your eyes to the left slightly, you should find a nice list of all the shows I've got planned, and they are ordered the way you'd expect (if you exist).
You're welcome.

Well, I made it to the finals everyone. Round 3 was almost sold out, so there's a good chance this one actually will sell out. If you're interested in seeing me (or any of the other talented comedians) perform that night, you should probably buy tickets ahead of time.
Also, there's a Facebook page about the event (although as I write this it hasn't been updated to include me or the other people who won two days ago).

It's at the Comedy Clubhouse, which is pretty much my favorite place to perform. You can find the details and buy tickets here. It looks like a great line-up, so it should be an awesome show!

I'm excited to say I made it past the semi-finals last night, making me a BOTB finalist! That means I get another night of stage time, and the chance to win $$ n' prizes. So that's pretty cool.
This website/blog thing is still painfully new, and I'm still working out what my voice is on it. Anyone can read it, and it's supposed to be a place to find out where n' when I'm doing stand-up, so I guess it should sound professional, and stick to the point. But it should also have a least some of my personality in it right? And, of course, it does, but how much is too much? I have a feeling a little bit of me goes a long way for most folks, but if you (whoever you are) have already read this much, you're not most folks, so what do I know?

What do I know?

I've spent a lot of time trying to make this thing look nice, and I'm not sure if I'm succeeding. Even were I to convince myself that this place was an aesthetic success, there still remains the fact that few if any visitors find their way here, which is a discouraging fact.
I'm not complaining, though. I don't really have a lot to say here, honest. That's what the stand-up is supposed to be for and/or about. The main purpose for doing this website was to provide an easy way for people to know when and/or where I'm performing my stand-up, and since I'm new at this, I didn't expect anything in the way of traffic. I just wanted to have this here for when I start to get really good, which could totally maybe happen. I practice so much it'd be kind of sad if I didn't, don't you think?
Anyway, the main point of this entry was to push down the last entry so the first thing you saw when you got here wouldn't be the still from a video about swine-flu related zombies, because I thought it was a little off-putting.

It's the 3rd round of the Battle of the Bay, and it should prove to be pretty much awesome. This is a good show to go to, because you can vote at the end, and silently making your voice heard is what everyone loves about comedy shows.

414 Mason St. (Right next to Ruby Skye)
the show starts at 7:00, and the tickets cost money. Fifteen money. You can buy them on-line if you like. Do you like?
This Saturday I'll be at Naked! Comedy for the first time! I'm really excited to be a part of this often time sold out and always hilarious show.

This Sunday is the second Actors' Theatre Benefit Show.
Doors open at 6:30, and the show starts at 7:00.
It's at the Actor's Theatre, 855 Bush St. (where they will be selling beer and wine)
This month, I'll be hosting and bringing up seven other comedians. The line-up features: Adam McLaughlin, Marvellus Lucas, Cara Tramontano, Red Scott Wagner, Karen Smyth and Marga Gomez! This is going to be a lot of fun, and I'm thrilled that it's actually going to happen.
It's just $15 at the door, but if you e-mail me at NatashaMuse@Gmail.com to reserve your tickets, the price gets even lower... $12. Hope to see you (if you exist at all, I just started this thing so it's likely I'm only talking to myself, which makes this harder to write) all there!

I'll be part of the first night of Kelly Anneken's new Comedy@the Stud. It starts at 10:00, three bucks to get inside, and you get to see some interesting people do comedy on the same stage that helped catapult Trannyshack into the wild success that it enjoyed. And sure, while you could argue that the success of Trannyshack had absolutely nothing to do with that particular stage, I could argue that you're kind of a jerk for brining it up. Then where would we be?

April 29th
Actually, I do know why. It's a choice of phonetics over semantics: I like the way it sounds, not what it says. The title, to me, suggests an implication from which you might infer that I will be hurling insults rather often. This is not the case.
What is true is that I'll be putting stuff up here about what I'm up to, and what I've been down with. So:

Tonight April 28th: Harvey's - 9:00

Tomorrow April 29th: Comedy @ the Stud - 9:00

on Thursday I'm "working" at Asia

on Friday I'm almost definitely going to be at the Pirate Cat Radio comedy show thing - 10:00

Saturday, 2nd: I'll be making my debut at Naked Comedy You can buy tickets here.

then on Sunday May 3rd: it's the Second big Actor's Theatre Show, with Marga Gomez! FB page!

It's gonna be a big weekend for me. No doubt.
