Writing Without the Me #10
Exercise #28 A List of Titles
Well, the first fifth of this year-long project to get better at writing is behind me. I’m not going to let the fact that we’re already a quarter through the year ruin this small accomplishment for me.
This week’s exercise is as simple as its name suggests: Create a bunch of titles for potential works (essays, short stories, poems, etc) for future use. Joselow says it’s like “storing nuts for the winter.” This prompt didn’t feel too demanding, as it reminded me of a Twitter game, but it was fun for the same reason.
I tried to not make them too silly but obviously, some words played their way in there. And believe it or not, I deleted the really bad ones:
The Seven Deadly Needs
The Wrestle of Leaves
Scripting the Flip
Even Mountains Plateau
Deathslide
A Confederacy of Dunks
Welcome to Upton Sinclair
Canon Fodder
In Europe, They Don’t Tip Cows
Don’t Get it Twisted: Tornado Safety Tips
Nightime on the Sun
Green Drips Grass the Garden Does Grow
I Am No Man
You Won’t Be This Young Again for a While
Jenny Got Her Ringlight
